Are those cards featuring scantily clad women that people on the Las Vegas Strip give you, for prostitutes?
then why are they all wearing shirts that say, “GIRLS IN YOUR ROOM TONIGHT”?
Because prostitution IS legal in some parts of Nevada, it’s a common myth among tourists that prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. Plus, Las Vegas has earned the nickname “Sin City”; which reinforces the myth.
GIRLS TO YOUR ROOM is a big business that makes a lot of money. Las Vegas residents tried to get rid of them at one time (citing them as a constant nuisance on the strip) but lost in court. The court ruled that their activity is protected by the constitution as long as they remain on public property.
Because of their notoriety and how well they’re doing; I seriously doubt that the company would risk being associated with prostitution. My take on it is that they know half the guys walking the strip mistakenly think prostitution is legal in Las Vegas and they are exploiting that.
What they’re really offering is exactly what their t-shirts say, GIRLS DIRECT TO YOUR ROOM IN 20 MINUTES. The sucker tourist thinks that’s a euphemism for prostitution. Even people answering this question think that. I don’t think that, again, because it would put them out of business. I would bet that undercover cops have posed as tourists and called for GIRLS TO THEIR ROOMS.
I think what you get is a girl to your room. That’s it. Like ordering a pizza but without the pizza.
100.000 tourists visit Las Vegas every day. Even if only 1 out of 10 thinks prostitution is legal, that gives the GIRLS TO YOUR ROOM people 10,000 potential new customers each day.
The real prostitutes in Las Vegas are flirting with guys in casino bars, walking around between Planet Hollywood and the MGM Grand in short skirts, smoking crack in front of Atomic Liquors on East Fremont, and advertising on the Internet as “escorts.”
